Crowns, bridges & dentures

Fixed and removable prosthetic dentistry for teeth that are heavily damaged, worn or missing.

What this involves

A straightforward look at the process.

A crown covers a tooth that has been weakened by decay, fracture or a large existing restoration, giving it a stronger outer surface. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a fixed appliance to the teeth on either side.
Dentures are a removable option for replacing missing teeth — either full dentures for a complete arch, or partial dentures to fill gaps between remaining natural teeth. We also handle denture repairs and cleaning.
Our aim with prosthetic work is a result that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. There are often alternative ways of treating the same problem depending on cost and preferred outcome — please discuss the treatment options with the dentist so we can plan the right approach for you.

How treatment is planned

A clear, structured visit.

01

Assessment

We check the teeth, gums and bite, and take images or impressions where needed.

02

Options

We go through the appliances that could work — crown, bridge, partial or full denture — and what each involves.

03

Preparation & fit

Teeth are prepared where required and a laboratory-made appliance is fitted at a follow-up visit.

04

Care & repairs

We provide care advice, and can clean or repair existing dentures for you.

Common questions

Good to know before you visit.

Should I choose a bridge or a denture?
It depends on the health of the neighbouring teeth, how many teeth are missing, and your preference. Both have trade-offs which your dentist will explain.
How many appointments does a crown take?
Typically at least two: one to assess and prepare the tooth, and another to fit the finished crown once it has been made.
Can you repair a denture I already have?
In many cases, yes. Bring it in and we can assess whether it can be repaired, relined or cleaned.
